Sure Health Management

Our musculoskeletal doctors work closely with our in-house team of Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) to provide a holistic approach to pain management. 

 

AEPs are university qualified allied health professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills and competencies to design, deliver and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for people with acute, sub-acute or chronic medical conditions, injuries or disabilities.

 

Conditions AEPs treat include cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, musculoskeletal, cancers, kidney, respiratory/pulmonary and mental health, and any other conditions for which there is evidence that exercise can improve the client's clinical status.

Exercise Physiology can help with:

  • Weight loss

  • Chronic musculoskeletal conditions and pain

  • Increasing strength

  • Management of osteoarthritis and other inflammatory conditions

  • Building bone density

  • Chronic fatigue/ Fatigue management

  • High blood pressure

  • Type 2 diabetes

  • High cholesterol

  • Mental health and wellbeing

  • Improved posture and balance

  • Post-stroke strength and function

  • Exercising safely after cardiac rehabilitation

  • Improving sports performance

  • Falls prevention

  • Cancer treatment and recovery

  • General de-conditioning and lack of fitness

Exercise Physiology is available as part of a Care Plan with a referral from your GP. The costs of treatment are partially covered by Medicare, TAC, WorkCover and private health insurance.
