This study looks at the use of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells (UC-MSC’s) for patients with RA. Results showed UC-MSC’s were a safe and effective method for reducing disease activity long-term. Improvements such as decreased expression levels of various inflammatory cytokines and chemokines as well as increased regulatory T cell levels were noted.
